I just switched to Kubuntu 6.06 LTS a month ago and I got everything working except my GFX Card. I've read all the Nvidia topics I could find. Anyway, I've tried all of the methods I've found and all of them come up with errors. Could someone give me step by step on how to get it running? BTW, I only have dial-up. Slow as crap... If that makes a difference.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 4000 MX drivers? Where do I begin
I have a 3-drive system, with Feisty on one drive, Edgy on the second and Dapper 6.06 on the third. I also have a Nvidia GeForce 4000 MX card.
On both Feisty and Edgy the MX 4000 will install and run happily using the 9631 driver. You can download this here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-9631.html
On Dapper, however, I have got this driver to install by using the envy script, as explained in Method 4 here:
http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Latest_Nvidia_Dapper
So far, however, I cannot get X to start, because the system can't find /dev/input/wacom.
So, I suggest that if you get tired of trying Dapper, you'll probably find it easier using Edgy or Feisty.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 4000 MX drivers? Where do I begin
Once you get to above link, you log totally out of KDE and X.
The install wizard will take you by the hand and carry you through, so no need to call Einstein. It even makes a backup of xorg.conf.
Let us know if this was helpful and if you succeded.
Cheers mate,
