[SOLVED] Disabling Touchpad automatically when external mouse is connected

    Hi everyone,

I have always loved the feature to disable the touchpad automatically when I connect an external mouse on my notebook. So handy. This used to work fine until Kubuntu 19.04.

After upgrading to Kubuntu 19.10, this option is gone and I haven't found a way to do enable that behaviour again.

Is this a bug or a lost feature of the latest Plasma release?

Thank you for any info on that!

You should install the package xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Thank you Snowhog!!!! Thank you so much! After installing that package and a restart the touchpad menu now is the same as before, with all the options, and working.

Now I wonder why it disappeared at all. Was that intended?

Yes of course, but it's handy if the OS handles that. Sometimes I use my Notebook without external mouse, then the touchpad is working without me having to think of the current state of the touchpad. Especially since there isn't any visible indicator that shows me if it's currently enabled or disabled.
