[SOLVED] repository changed its 'Suite' value...?

the past few upgrades i've been able to do have all been preceded by a notification that:

The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available, an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise, the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address is correct in 'Repositories' under 'Settings'.

Repository 'http://ddebs.ubuntu.com bionic-updates Release' changed its 'Suite' value from 'bionic-proposed' to 'bionic-updates'Repository 'http://ddebs.ubuntu.com bionic-updates Release' changed its 'Codename' value from 'bionic-proposed' to 'bionic-updates'

as can be seen in the attached screen shot.

i viewed 'Repositories' under 'Settings' and found nowhere that those values could be changed for any of the repositories in the list.

what does this mean?

how can i fix it?

I suggest disabling the 'ddeb' repo, this isn't normally enabled, and is only used when one needs to install debug symbols, which are not used often, so are not useful for 99.99% of users.

Are you you upgrading to 18.04, or is this on the same system this happened in your earlier post?

i have debug symbols enabled for a couple of applications for which i'm submitting regular bug reports, but thanks for the advice. ;-)

um... i'm fairly sure it's the same system i was running in 2019, but now i'm not sure why i would be getting EXACTLY the same message that i was getting a year ago, especially since i fixed it last year...
