Please do not use the CODE tag when pasting content that contains formatting (colored, bold, underline, italic, etc).
The CODE tag displays all content as plain text, including the formatting tags, making it difficult to read.

I've never been aware of it until appeared the other day on my desktop.
At least I was not aware of using it.
That's what I am always worried about, is that it was part of something that my computer used behind the scenes and I was not aware of it.
I guess I can always reinstall it.
KTorrent is the KDE Bittorrent client. Not so important these days.
If you stumbled on a torrent seed file while browsing, ktorrent is the default file association.
My first thought is that Kubuntu is starting what it calls a "session" when you start your computer. Check system settings, Workspace/startup and shutdown, desktop session.
