I see 18.04.1 on 26 July, and 16.04.5 on 3 August. Today is 27 July, yesterday's update brought my desktop machine to 16.04.5, but there seems to be neither hide nor hair of 18.04.1. Any one have any insight into this?

So now Bionic is live and well on my desktop machine, and it's looking pretty good. The downsides are few, from what I can see so far, and are skin-deep - presentation layer. Maybe, some new or updated themes will show up. I'm not at all disappointed, and the fact that it seems to pick up where I left Xenial is good. I haven't looked at all the applications yet, but so far so good, and I removed all the stuff I have no use for like Akonadi, Kmail, Kontact, etc.
Kubuntu continues to be a great OS!
