Kubu Yakkity LTS presents segfault switch rgb - hdmi w xrender

Kubuntu LTS, when installed on removable media, such as a usb stick, and when set to xrender for an RGB monitor; when moved to HDMI presents a seg fault which cannot not be ameloriated on the HDMI mechine. One must return to the original machine and set the OS to Open GL 3.1 ( which offers tearing in use on that machine) but will then, upon being replaced to the HDMI machine will load.
