    No network after install

    iwconfig
    lo no wireless extension's.
    enp3s0 no wireless extensions

If I could install the broadcom driver for 2322 then at least the WiFi hot spots would probably show. Why enp3s0 instead of eth0?

How do I change the directory that the CDROM is mounted on so ubuntu-divers can find it? Automount sets it to \media\cdrom but ubuntu-drivers is looking in \cdrom.

I just tried manually installing the bcmwl-kernel-source_6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu1~1.1_amd64.deb. Status says:Error: Cannot satisfy dependencies.. I looked in the included files tab and it is empty!can I download the needed files on my kindle and copy them to a boulder on my note book and use the package manager? What is the URL and what fields do I need? I was able to install b43-fwcutter.

If you downloaded that .deb where from and did they state the dependencies there?

I thought mabey if I could get the ether working then mamybe ubuntu-drivers would work. What is going wrong here?

            Sudo ifconfig enp3s0 up
SI0CSIFFLAGS: Can not assign requested address

Adding the v switch yields: Host name lookup failure.

I finally found the Ubuntu denial driver for my card. I extracted the file to a folder I made. How do I finish installing it?

You did mean "Xenial driver", yes?

I got he WiFi working! The xenial LTS install .iso is missing two needed dependences. glibc-cdoc2.21-obuntu4_all.deb and dkms_2.20.3-2ubuntu6_all.deb

Discover seems to be broken as I have been trying to update for a long time and it seems to be hung. I will try the konsel.

                  Still no wired networking yet.

Now that you've restored proper ownership of your home account is this still a problem?

Firefox works again. No wifi when I activated for the first time. I had to grab 3 ubuntu packages and get a fourth one from the install DVD /pool/restricted/b/the wifi driver for my brodcom. 4233. Still no wired and there is nothing at all in KDE menu favorites! They really need to fix the installer. I now have a BTRFS system so Hopefully I won't get hosed again.

Did you do a fresh install and choose btrfs, or covert your existing ext4 to btrfs? BTW, there is nothing wrong with the installer. You can add or remove apps in the "Favorites" list to suit yourself. If you can't then your system is still hosed or the ISO you used to reinstall didn't pass its sha256 test.
