    cannot log out - cannot reboot - cannot run muon update manager

    The title saays it all. This is a change from yesterday.
    I have no idea what is happening; I have not tried
    "reboot" | "shutdown" from the command line.

    Hold Alt+PrtSc keys and press in order, r e i s u b. This will safely shutdown and reboot your PC.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      Thanks - that worked fine!

      In the old days I would have

      sync;sync;shutdown now

      but these days I avoid all of that old stuff.
      I fear it has been half eleminated.
