    No device configured for user

No device configured for user shows up whenever I use apt-get or sudo apt-get. It works fine, just has this strange error.

I suspect you've installed a package that includes pamusb-common or something like it. After googling your problem I installed pamusb-common in order to get pamusb-check (which issues the error); now, if I run pamusb-check root or su, I get * No device configured for user "root".. Oddly, no message on sudo apt-get. I guess it might depend on what devices you have plugged in.

Just uninstalled pamusb-common and the message has gone.

Supposedly, you can use pamusb-conf to generate a /etc/pamusb.conf that can suppress the message.
    Regards, John Little
