    @aria
    See here if you want to disable ballo completely : http://4nakama.net/2014/04/19/how-to...kubuntu-14-04/
    An option to do it properly should be parted of KDE 4.13.1, so I guess we will get it as soon as kde maintener update the repositories.

    Regards

      @Shaika-Dzari:

      Could you forward your message to the Kubuntu team, please?
      There is also the new network manager bothering me. Actually there was/were, because I completely disabled them: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/12.04-release

      Thanks,

        You can get 4.13.1 from the Kubuntu Updates PPA right now:
        Code:
        steve@t520:~$ [B]kded4 --version[/B]
        Qt: 4.8.6
        KDE Development Platform: [B][COLOR="#B22222"]4.13.1[/COLOR][/B]
        KDE Daemon: 4.13.1

        steve@t520:~$ [B]dpkg -S kded4[/B]
        kdelibs-bin: /usr/lib/kde4/libkdeinit/libkdeinit4_kded4.so
        kdelibs-bin: /usr/bin/kded4
        kdelibs-bin: /usr/share/man/man8/kded4.8.gz

        steve@t520:~$ [B]apt-cache policy kdelibs-bin[/B]
        kdelibs-bin:
          Installed: 4:4.13.1-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu14.04~ppa4
          Candidate: 4:4.13.1-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu14.04~ppa4
          Version table:
        [B][COLOR="#B22222"] *** 4:4.13.1-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu14.04~ppa4 0
                500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages
        [/COLOR][/B]        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
             4:4.13.0-0ubuntu1 0
                500 http://mirror.pnl.gov/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages
        And now you can enable/disable Baloo:

        Vishesh Handa finally listened to his critics. Read the comments -- very illuminating.

          Or:
          Another way to disable Baloo (have no more 14.04 installed, but if Baloo can be find where Nepomuk is, it can also be disabled):
          System Settings -> Startup and Shutdown -> Service Manager (Startup Services).
          I disabled this way Bluetooth, should work for Baloo too. But, doing so or the way SteveRiley showed, all search option are lost. While with Nepomuck it is possible to disable only the indexing by content (which is the hamster taking resources and heating the machine).

            The Service Manager only lists installed service modules for kded (kde daemon), baloo does not have one AFAIK.
