try using your web broswer and go to this address http://localhost:631
set it up that way if asked for login use the same one you use to login to your computer. this is the CUPS (common unix printing system) control panel . the one in system settings is just a nicer frontend.

sithlord48 the printer is connected wireless, and there are 3
other printers connected to the same printer wireless,
I know it can be frustrating as I have done it all before but this is getting to me
would it hurt my systems if I use sudo apt-get install cups? or give it a go and
          see what happens?

ah wireless yes they can be a pain if they use only ad-hoc mode.you need to connect the printer to your router via its wifi (or with a cable) that would essentally make its set up the same as any standard network printer. i can't seam to find any manual online to see if this thing even supports connecting to a network with its wifi .....

there is no point to installing cups since you already have it.

strange you should have cups already installed... good to hear you got it working.
