Google Earth Kubuntu 13.10

I have seen many various people giving various advice on how to install Google Earth such as:

What is the correct way to install the latest Google Earth? I am confused... sigh

Just install the 32 Bit deb. If you encounter "asserted_dlsym: Assertion `result' failed" errors do the following :

"apt-get install libudev1:i386"

I installed the 32 bit deb file from their site and it would not launch.

I then installed the libudev1:i386 still no luck.

I then tried launching it from a konsole and it gave this error

./googleearth-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I just downloaded the 64-bit .deb file and from within the directory where I downloaded it, in a console, ran:

sudo dpkg -i google-earth-stable_current_amd64.deb

Works fine. Launches from K Menu.

You are still missing some 32 Bit Libraries. In this case its :

libglu1-mesa:i386 - Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU)

Give it a "apt-get install libglu1-mesa:i386"

It works fine if I do not want to look at Panoramio Photos. On my system when I click on an image symbol, I just get a white box with no image.

Are you able to see these images?
