    Need help with WUBI

I wanted to install Kubuntu using WUBI but ran into a problem. I thought that wubi would install *ubuntu without partitioning my hard drive. I did that with plain Ubuntu on my laptop.

But when I tried to do a wubi-install of Kubuntu on my desktop, it seemed like it wanted to repartition my drive!

I do not want that. Is there a way to get "normal" kubi behavior?

    Thanks.

    Hi, and welcome to Kubuntu

Wubi will not partition your HDD, it only creates a file within the window partition to copy Kubuntu in and alters the boot manager so you can choose at startup what you want to use. It will ask how much HDD space you want to give it, but that is only for the size of the file.
It will not create a partition and if you want to uninstall it for, say, to create a permanent partition for Kubuntu, (highly recommended) then all you have to do is uninstall Wubi. It will restore your bootmanager as well.

You're right. For some reason, I thought that wubi was part of the Ubuntu DVD.
