HP i7
Kubuntu 12.04, current. Kernel 3.2.0.31
XOrg 1.11.3
GeForce 210 PCIe - Nvidia 304.51
#1 ACER S242HL #2 ACER P223WA
During the last update to kernel 3.2.0.31 my old GeForce 9600 died. I put in a new GeForce 210 PCIe, reconnected everything and problems. The driver would not recognize the second device and was in very low resolution. Attempts to install drivers using jockey failed on load errors. I eventually cleaned that up using apt in a terminal to delete jockey and the nvidia stuff and then re-installed jockey and selected the current (recommended driver). Everything returned to normal, except power management. My KDE screen saver is set to 10 minutes and my power off is set to 90 minutes. The screensaver does work, but takes a very long time - well over an hour, to kick in. The power off setting does not happen at all. Do I have a messed up config file somewhere that I need to delete? If so, what is it called and where do I find it.
TIA
