      If you want it now, it's available in the KDE Goodies PPA for Precise, Oneiric, and Natty.

        yofel gtk3-engines-oxygen is backported. The default setup changes not yet, I'll do that once we have everything in precise and it's been tested

          *grabs*

          Thanks
          I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

            Yeah, šumski does a good job with that PPA. It's on all my computers.

              Has anyone else's Precise installation stopped using the gtk-theme after the last few updates? It seems I have all the right packages, and the gtk theming was working great until yesterday.

                Thanks man!
                I considered deleting the PPA , cause i wasn't sure anyone uses it...

                I've just uploaded kde-config-gtk, it should soon be built, so try changing your theme with that

                  Please keep it! It's great. Does Launchpad provide statistics for how many people download your PPA?

                    More the Merrier

                    Statistics

                    How to find out how many people have downloaded from PPAs : http://askubuntu.com/questions/89224...aded-from-ppas

                    With the "hrvojes", "kde-goodies", "oneiric", "i386":
                    Code:
                    python ppastats.py hrvojes kde-goodies oneiric i386

                    It is good to have a PPA

                    The PPAs are the bleeding edge.
                    - The usual route of an application is to the Debian repositories and then to the Ubuntu repositories. This will take some time.

                    Some applications will newer get to the official repositories because the paperwork has not done...
                    - They don't have the license information.
                    - They don't have the proper developer information.
                    - etc

                    Some applications will be dropped from the official repositories
                    - The original developer has abandoned them.
                    - Some library part has been marked as deprecated.

                      Only a few downloads, but will leave the PPA. I'm surprised for some packages have "high" number of usage (phonon-mplayer,k4dirstat ) and some unexpectedly low (bespin).
                      I'm changing packages naming - so users wanting only one package won't dist-upgrade all package available - rekonq --> rekonq-git, gtk2-engines-oxygen --> gtk2-engines-oxygen-git, etc. This will make reverting to official packages much easier.
                      For daily builds , iv'e also made a new PPA , only for Kubuntu backports PPA:
                      https://launchpad.net/~hrvojes/+arch...ts-kde-goodies
                      so the sources get rebuilt for newer KDE versions.

                        I've relied on your PPA to obtain the latest versions of, well, whatever you put in it that (a) I use and (b) haven't been updated elsewhere. You were, for example, hosting Amarok 2.5 and Muon 1.3 before other repos.

                        At the moment, I'm using:

                        * bangarang
                        * gtk2-engines-oxygen
                        * oxygen-transparent
                        * rekonq
                        * ttf-oxygen-fonts (just to keep an eye on them; I like the design, but the font still needs kerning work)

                        What else to add? Well, I'd suggest anything in KDE's anon-git that remains under active development. Perhaps KDE Goodies could become the place to go for the latest and greatest KDE apps, much like xorg-edgers is the place to go for on-the-edge X.

                        Oh, BTW...the packages you've moved into "unstable" -- are they really unstable?

                            I moved them primarily because they are somewhat more "important" than other packages, so they don't get upgraded when someone wants to install only oxygen-transparent, or gtk2/3-engines-oxygen.

                            How unstable they really are, depends on upstream - at times they are really stable, and bring bugfixes much quicker, sometimes they have really annoying quirks.

                            First things on my TODO list are getting amarok to build on precise, and maybe kplayer, kamoso (qmloso - http://www.proli.net/2012/02/12/kamoso-sprint/). I had (lib)ktorrent in the PPA, but proven to be really unstable at times.
                            If i find the time i'll try with that appmenu/HUD stuff + maybe digikam/kipi-plugins (2.6 is going to be a GREAT release)
