Whenever I do an update using Synaptic, it lists wine as "unchanged". That's not a problem as far as I know, but I'm wondering what the point of that is. Why does Synaptic list it if it hasn't been changed? And why is it always wine and never anything else?

Perhaps the developers/maintainers of wine are utilising packaging features others are not. I often read via Muon when looking at updated packages, the following,
