I have tried to install takeoff launcher on my oneric machine and ran into a few issues.
First this PPA is probably corupted as using it give the following error:
"sudo apt-get install takeoff" reports this problem

Finally I tried the build and it worked very nicely:

Just follow the steps and you will have a beautiful new launcher to play with.
