Task manager bug still not fixed!!!???

When this bug is going to be fixed: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275469 ?

I cannot believe that this annoying "in you face" bug is still present in KDE 4.7.4 and in 4.8 beta2.

Sometimes I ask myself does KDE devs use KDE on daily basis... and how bug like this is not top priority for fixing?
For us, users, it is top priority (look at "most hated bugs" at bugs.kde.org).

    Hey there

Yeah, that bug is a pain... I have been using smooth tasks and don't seem to have that issue. Smooth tasks is a much better task manager for KDE, IMO.

Give it a try... Just launch your favorite package manager and search for smooth-tasks and install it. Then, remove the current task manager and add smooth tasks in its place.

    Hope this helps!

Hm... I wonder what's different about your setup, then? The bug includes a number of reports where Smooth Tasks exhibited the same problem.

Not sure. I usually install smooth tasks right off, so maybe it doesn't have time to corrupt :-D.

I'm using 4.7.4 of kde and stock nvidia driver and kernel.

Let me know if you want any other info from my system to help track versions and I will provide them.

        Thanks!

It happens to me with default task manager, smooth tasks and icon tasks. The bug is somewhere in libtaskmanager according to bugreport...

If this bug does not get fixed in KDE 4.8 and in next Kubuntu LTS, I will be really really really pissed off.

Well, here on my fully updated 11.10 running KDE 4.7.4, I don't/haven't experienced your issue. IF it were a true bug (IMO), shouldn't it affect everyone? Might it be an (inconsistent) incompatibility in the video sub-system?

Exactly. I get very annoyed with this bug when running 11.10 yet when I switch to 12.04 alpha 1, I rarely have a problem. Exactly the same hardware, except for the drive the OS is installed on and the same fully updated KDE version, 4.7.3. The settings for both installations are as identical as I can make them.

No wonder it's been so difficult to fix.

This still isn't fixed, using yesterday's master. in fact, it's happening for me almost on every closed window...

Interesting post regarding this annoying bug:

                      https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275469#c122

It seems that movement of the mouse is a factor as to whether ghost task bar entries are seen or not.

There are few Qt patches which are fixing the bug.

I opened launchpad bug report asking Qt 4.8 for precise to be patched.

Voted. TBH I do not look too much at my taskbar as I tend to "expose" my windows when working and selecting the one I need, however, a bug is a bug and it better get fixed.

This wasn't KDE bug after all. It was Qt bug and now it is fixed. You can update your Qt from this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~hrvojes/+archive/qt

                              Code:
                              sudo apt-add-repository ppa:hrvojes/qt
                              sudo apt-get update
                              sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
