Adding programs to the launcher

In previous versions of Kubuntu I could add my own programs to the Launcher menus by right clicking the launcher and clicking on "Add Applications..."

Use the menu editor to create the appropriate program entries in the appropriate catagories, then click on "Save" and the programs were now added to the launcher menus.

Well everything still works EXCEPT for the "Save" step. Clicking that pops up a small window that says it is updating the configuration (just like in previous versions) the kicker is that the configuration is NOT updated adding the new entries.

Is this a "New Feature" or is it a bug?? I suspect a bug and a pretty serious one.

its a bug, use the QML launcher ,installable via addwidget/ get new stuff.
there already is a bug report on the issue.

edit forgot you can view them in the menu editor of you enable hidden (although they are not marked as hidden entries). this will show them in the menueditor list. me thiinks two bugs have combined their power.)

Interesting about the hidden entries - Turned that on and found 12 'hidden' entries for okular - clicked through all of them and they are all identical. Sounds like the whoever created the okular entry didn't know about the bug either and kept trying to create an entry for okular

Is there any timetable posted about when the bug is expected to be fixed?

not entirely sure but its known about upstream, also looks like there might be a patch thats in testing already

Thanks - that QML launcher is really nice - nicer layout than the KDE launcher.
