    GIMP won't start

I'm running the Kubuntu 11.04 beta (all updates installed) on an hp dv5000 and can't get the GIMP to start.

The error I get when trying to run it from Konsole is:
    (gimp:1798): GLib-WARNING **:
    /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.5/./glib/goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg,
optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)

    And dmesg says:
    gimp[1798]: segfault at 4 ip 00fac6ff sp bf9321c0 error 6 in
    libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0.2400.4[daf000+3d1000]

I've been trying to google for tips, but couldn't find anything useful. Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: GIMP won't start

Gimp is starting and running correctly on my 11.04 system, however a bug with your symptoms has been reported:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...mp/+bug/757653

it is marked duplicate of this one:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...mp/+bug/748853

which doesn't really look like the same thing.

      Worked for me, thanks!

In short, this is how I fixed the problem:
      • set GTK theme to raleigh
      • start GIMP once
      • set GTK theme back to oxygen-gtk
      • GIMP now works with oxygen-gtk, too!

Thanks, I had the same problem and that worked for me too. 8)
If I knew half as much now as I thought I knew then, I&#39;d know twice as <br />much as I do.
