ibus won't start

I used to have SCIM on Ubuntu for chinese input and it worked great, but since Gnome doesn't support latest hardware better than KDE so I make a switch, but SCIM does not work out of the box on Gnome so I use the default ibus, but even I installed language support and select ibus for input method, nothing happen when I try to active it via ctrl-space, even I can see the tray icon I can't activate chinese input, and the input method always reset to none that really sucks, too bad I will have to go back to Gnome and my notebook display will goes blank again > > >

I will ressurrect this thread as I have done with many Ibus threads, in hopes of someone picking it up and gives an answer.

I have the exact same problem as described here... but for Kubuntu 12.10 (I guess Iotech used 10.10 at the time he/she wrote that post)
