Hi. I've recently stumbled back upon KDE after being away since I think KDE 2, and it's an awesome environment. The issue I'm having with kubuntu is that I've got an Nvidia graphics card (a 9800GT, to be exact) and I can't set up multiple desktops properly. I've got the proprietary nvidia drivers installed, and everything is running smoothly, but I can't exactly set the monitors up the way I want. The KDE settings panel shows the desktop set up as one large monitor, rather than two monitors. That's the first problem, as I can't rotate the screens or switch their positions on the desktop. The next problem is that I like using my second screen to the right rotated to the left, or in what windows calls portrait mode. Is there any way for me to have the first monitor horizontal, and the second vertical? I'm not a complete noob when it comes to linux, but I'm not amazing either. Does anyone with an Nvidia card or experience in setting things like this up know what I can do about this problem? If not I'll be stuck with either rotating my second monitor when I boot kubuntu, or not using it at all, which I'd like to avoid since I rather like having a vertical monitor.
Any help is appreciated.
TLR - Multiple monitors with an Nvidia card, where the second is in portrait mode.
Edit: Actually, I'm not too sure if I want to use kubuntu. It seems really unstable. Windows seem to open wherever they want, stuff seems to prefer opening up on my second monitor, rather than my first, it's a mess! You'd think that if you're going to develop a distribution you'd focus on basic usability before anything else. Sure, there's tons of transparencies and eye candy, but I can't even get my monitors set up properly. :[
