    KTorrent doesn't integrate with Firefox

    Hi,
Today I tried to open a .torrent file from Firefox, clicking on it. A window poped up with 2 options: 1) to save the file; 2) to open it with a different application and a button "Browse" or something like that. When I clicked on the button another window appeared with Search; Recently Used etc. After a click on "Search" and input into the field of "KTorrent" nothing happened.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Go to Edit-->Preferences, Tab "Applications", search for torrent and choose "ktorrent" from the dropdown-menu.

remember that everything is Case SenSiTive, so "ktorrent" is not the same as 'KTorrent" when calling for commands. "ktorrent" is what you would type. THHHB's method works nicely as well

        Thank you!
THHB: Unfortunately "torrent" is missing in Edit>Preferences>Applications tab.
claydoh: I'll try your your method as soon as possible.

Do you even have KTorrent installed?

            Snowhog,
Yes, I do. I upgraded Karmic to Lucid online if this will be of help for you.

Re: KTorrent doesn't integrate with Firefox

IF it is installed, then it will be found in K > Applications > Internet > KTorrent

IF you don't see it there, then open a console and type:
              Code:
              sudo apt-get install --simulate ktorrent
After typing your pwd, if you don't see:
ktorrent is already the newest version.
Then KTorrent is NOT installed. From the console you can then type:
              Code:
              sudo apt-get install ktorrent
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

That's great, but how? This forum is about helping others with Kubuntu. Even if the fix seems trivial, it may help someone else.

Re: KTorrent doesn't integrate with Firefox

As I told you I have KTorrent installed. So when clicking on the link a window appeared with 2 options:
                    1. open with application... + button "Browse";
                    2. Save file to disk

Before that I read somewhere - I don't remember exactly where - about the file structure of Linux and learned that ktorrent.exe is in root/usr/bin.
I chose option 1. and pointed ktorrent.exe as a program.
After that I opened Firefox>edit>options>applications and chose files "torrent" to be opened with ktorrent.

                    That is all.
