    PPA to update

    Hi

    My Kubuntu doesn't want to update
    In my laptop, the update option popped up....

    When I try to do it using Kpackagekit, it can't find any updates to do.

    What is the PPA that I need to add to the source list, so it can fetch tje update to 10.04?

    Thanks

    Re: PPA to update

    if you do not get a notice for the upgrade after refreshing your package list, look here for instructions on how to start the process. There is no PPA required for upgrading, the packages are in the normal repositores

        Re: PPA to update

        You can edit your sources.list by hand:
        alt+f2->kdesudo kate->
        /etc/apt/sources.list
        replace all karmic with lucid

        comment backports and restricted out

        now go to:
        /etc/apt/sources.list.d and get rid of everythinf not lucid
        you will have to reinstall those ppa's later if needed.

        Now just open a terminal and do:
        Code:
        sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
        lean back and enjoy a coffee / bear / glas of wine

          Thanks Fitan. It's already working.
          Lets see if it goes smoothly.

            Re: PPA to update

            The page I gave has instructions for different ways of upgrading, including over the internet -it is in the first section. The upgrade tool is the preferred method as it does much, much more than just change your sources.list. Simply editing sources.list is not supported, though it should work in general.

              Oh well, that didn't worked very good.
              I had a flrfx (I think this is the name of the file) and the system crashed....
              No booting..

              So, a format was made, and here I am again it all so fresh eheheheh

                So, now that your are back to Karmic 9.10 (yes?), press Alt+F2 and type: update-notifier-kde -u as claydoh linked you to.
