Can anybody tell why this happening??

Let me explain. I have installed Kubuntu 10.04 in the VMWare. Just after the installation this thing starts to appear each time I change desktop resolution from the default 800x600 (by the way how to tell kubuntu to "store" my selected resolution so that it won't change back to 800x600
) to my desired 1900x1020. In two words - in every program I start fonts, icons, and everything is SO HUGE!.. as if the program still thinks that I use 800x600, and resized each window content accordingly.
I've tried to reinstall VMWare tools, but the problem remained.
I am so desperate...
