(Solved) No Wireless Network - WICD

Upgraded my Kubuntu 9 to 10.04 last night.
When system rebooted I'm presented with an UBUNTU screen with four
color changing dots. Then I get my familiar KDE4 login screen.
I log in and see my desktop, but then get prompted to enter my password at least three more times for ksudo, kate,

I was using WICD for my wireless network connection but it doesn't seem to find my network. When shutting down I get a really messed up text screen where the background changes colors along with the text which appears to be 64 point font and word wraps around the screen. This doesn't sound "normal" to me. Didn't have time to play with it and try to fix network this morning. Had to run to work.

    Re: No Network

I'm not sure I'll be able to completely help you but can you clarify how you
get prompted to enter [your] password at least three more times for ksudo, kate
? Is it the KDE Wallet asking for your password?

Also, post your /etc/network/interfaces. What is WICD doing that it's not seeing your network? Does it see anything at all? Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling WICD?

      Re: No Network Solved

Got the network back. Apparently the WICD wireless adapter changed from ra0 to wlan0. As soon as I figured that out WICD started and connected right up. As to the boot up screen and the passwords. I just upgraded my Dell ATG 620 laptop and it went perfectly. The boot up screen shows KUBUNTU in a nicely shaded blue. I also upgraded my older Dell GX-150 and it's start up screen looks really bad like in another post. Once past the boot up screen the desktop looks great.

On my HP Touchsmart the start up screen says UBUNTU. Don't know why.
Once the start up icons finish I get a pop-up which looks like kwallet, but only has kesudo <3> in the title bar. I log in and it changes to keduso <2> and then one more time to kdesudo. Everything else appears to be working correctly. On my laptop the desktop sharing menu also pops up and I don't know how to stop that from happening. I could post screen shots if I thought it would help anything.
