    usb mouse cursor frozen to screen

    I just installed kubuntu lucid through apt-get everything went smooth except now my usb mouse wont work, the cursor is frozen to the screen and I have my doubts about my ps 2 keyboard also any ideas

    1) have you rebooted yet?
    2) have you unplugged/replugged in your mouse?
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      yes I have rebooted unplugged the mouse to no avail,heres another weird one I have ubuntu lucid on my second hard drive I was looking through the menu and it has kpackage kit installed I am at a loss here also

        Well, this is Lucid, and...

        Reboot and enter the BIOS and look for a setting that deals with PS/2 hardware. There should be a setting that enables/disables 'legacy' support (or words to that effect). Change that setting, save and continue to boot.

          As snowhog mentioned this is lucid, thus alpha and not ready for production use.

          I can't help you on the mouse issue, my mice all behave

          What do you mean by:
          I just installed kubuntu lucid through apt-get
          Did you install kubuntu-desktop from your ubuntu install so that you have a choice at log in?

          If so then that would explain why you have some kde stuff in your gnome menu and vice versa.

          Or did you upgrade to Lucid from an existing Karmic Kubuntu? That could break a few things.

            Fintan I had ubuntu on my second hard drive it was karmic i did an internet upgrade to lucid.I have kubuntu on my first hard drive it is still karmic . the kpackagekit is in lucid
