The installation instructions for the PPA for the ip2 Ubuntu deb package is here:
    https://geti2p.net/en/download/debian
The Ubuntu section is half way down the page.

I2P is by far the easiest p2p program to install and use. It's control panel is far and away the best of any of the p2p applications. Unlike IPFS and ZeroNet, which are pains to get working with Tor, you can use Tor easily. Start by installing FoxyProxy, then there is an xml configuration file here, which can be downloaded and installed using FoxyProxy's file-->install procedure. Using Tor you can access both ClearNet and DarkNet. Being p2p, I2P also installs peers sites onto your machine, but using their control panel you can control the allowed bandwidth use for uploads and downloads, and you can ban peers you suspect or have been informed that they are dealing in contraband or child porn.

IPFS depends a LOT on cutting and pasting LONG encryption keys to access content on your's or someone else's computer. The IPNS (their "domain name" system) isn't very good at identifying the content of a key. ZeroNet comes with some "community" sites like ZeroMail, ZeroBoard, etc., which you can "activate" by clicking on an "Activate" button. You can also browse other ZeroNet websites by clicking on their encrypted key. Clicking on a key causes that site's content to be downloaded onto your system and you become a host for that content. Like IPFS, they claim that only about 10Mb is the average size. So, with 600 peers, about 6-10Gb of your HD is used by others.

I2P will use your HD and your bandwidth as well, but you are more in control of how much and you can use Tor with little difficulty, when compared to ZeroNet or IPFS or even Freenet. I2P has been around since 2003.

    Here is the control panel:

Ya! It's based on Fedora and has the I2P software preinstalled. All of the I2P menus and tools are courtesy of I2P, not iPrediaOS (or Fedora on which it is based, IIRC).

By adding that PPA I pointed to in a posting above and installing i2p you get the goodness of IP2 on top of the perfection of Kubuntu or Neon!

After experimenting with IPFS, ZeroNet, Freenet and I2P I've decided that I2P is what I will be using. It can access both the clearnet and the darknet. I like the fact that it fits more easily with Tor than the others, and even though I can run I2P in my Vivaldi browser, and have for about 30 minutes trying out I2P, I will use Tor from now on. I2P adds Tor's anonymity to I2P anonymity and peer-to-peer networking, plus, all the features listed in those four pics posted above or mentioned on the I2P website. Some complain about the fact that it is written in Java, but one can also get the C++ version.

An exploit in Tails breaks the security if I2P, and that's probably because the Tails Maintainer position in the I2P dev team is empty. And, if one uses Tails, which is an OS like iPrediaOS.

Tails announced the release of 2.12 without the I2P privacy app. The reason?
          http://news.softpedia.com/news/tails...k-515000.shtml
"We removed I2P, an alternative anonymity network, because we, unfortunately, have failed to find a developer to maintain I2P in Tails. Maintaining software like I2P well-integrated in Tails takes time and effort, and our team is too busy with other priorities," reads today's announcement.

Which is more secure, Tor or Freenet?
            https://www.quora.com/Is-Freenet-mor...ymous-than-Tor

IF you want to make a "Darknet", not a link to onion websites but to your friends, then Freenet is your tool. You can establish a very secure distributed network in which distributed between you and your friends only. Of course, in a totalitarian state, tools like Freenet, Tor and other privacy tools are outlawed.

IF you have snap installed you can install I2P from here.

                https://uappexplorer.com/snap/ubuntu/i2pd

This snap version is "is a full-featured C++ implementation of I2P client", if you still think that a Java desktop application is as dangerous as a java web applet.

so GG is descending into the dark ,,,,,,,careful GG ,,,,,if you let your self become a transfer node you may find black SUV's parked outside your house .

I think I will stay away from this pursuit and stick to my privet torrent site that I have been using for years .

am I curious ,,,of course , I am curious about everything ,,,,but at the risk of transferring truly bad stuff ,,,naw I will stay on the "clear net"
