Beryl Crashes When Switching from KDE to Beryl

i have installed beryl and everything went smooth, i can start beryl manager and settings, but when switching from KDE to Beryl it just crashes and logs me out.

i have the intel 965 chipset with the graphics accelertor x3000

any ideas?

and I didn't have too much difficulty.

My main hangup at the end which was crashing my beryl like you describe was because of an incorrect setting in xorg.conf

I had to set composite to enable but it may be different for you.

running: grep "Composite extension" /var/log/Xorg.0.log

should tell you if you need to enable it or not.


I am extremely new to kubuntu and beryl so if the information is not correct I apologize.
