    Running with nVidia

I'm as noob as they come....

Got kubuntu installed on the hard drive and after a few hours of learning, got the nVidia drivers loaded and running. Looks nice. But...

When I reboot the machine, it boots to text mode login. If I try to start kdm ("sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start"), it says kdm is already running.

What's the magic? How do I switch to kdm and how do I fix it so it boots to kdm all the time?

    TIA...

What happens when you type startx? If that doesn't work, what I usually do is delete the whole X configuration file, and restore the backup.

    at the console, type

    cd /etc/X11
    sudo nano xorg.conf.1

at this point, you just save the file as 'xorg.conf', then type

    startx
