Hi!
Background:
-- Former Unix Solaris non expert user
-- installed Kubuntu Edgy on a (prepartitioned single-HD) desktop (dual boot with WinXP already installed) yesterday, everything worked fine
-- install ok, use ok (including WiFi networking...)
My problem is the following:
I left Kubuntu in hibernate mode, in order to recover my apps in the state I left them in. The computer shuts down without problem.
Today when starting the computer back it stops and freezes (no control whatsoever) during setup.
Here is what I get when pressing DEL:
AMIBIOS <etc...>
Entering SETUP ...
Press F8 to select Boot Selection Popup Menu
PC2-4300 Single Channel Mode
Checking NVRAM..
Initializing USB Controllers .. Done
<Then blank...>
Resetting or hard restarting do not change a thing...
I suspect the signal for resuming is not sent (hence not received) and the system still hibernates.
Can you give me the open sesame to get back in controls?
Reinstalling Kubuntu is acceptable. Complete disk reformatting is not.
Thank you for your help!
