Need help please!

I'm new to Linux. I've been a windows user for years so please forgive me. I have been folowing the tutorial on the home Konqueror home page, but I cant seem to get any codecs or java installed. I would like to go to www.break.com or www.logmein.com etc.

I start the Adept Manager, but I cant seem to add the repository(s) that I need to download everything through apt-get. I have a lot of repositories commented out with no url. Can anyone help please!

First repositories,

1) Open adept.
2) From the top menu bar select 'View' > 'Manage Repositories'.
3) Right click on the grayed out repositories and select 'enable'.
4) At the bottom click 'Apply' to save changes.
5) Then click 'Close'.
6) Finally 'Fetch Updates'

Codecs,

In Adept search for codecs, select install for libxine-extracodecs, Apply changes.

Java,

Java is available using Adept. I have had some issues using Adept to install java since it requires input regarding where to install the browser plugin. This may be accomplished easier using apt-get.

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-plugin

2) If you have a reasonably quick download speed then install Automatix which will solve most of your problems. You can get it at http://www.getautomatix.com/wiki/ind...e=Installation
