    kubuntu update problem

Hi everyone, I just installed kubuntu last night and I'm having problems updating. Everything works normally, I can use the internet and download files just fine, until I try to update. The update works for about 10 or 15 seconds, then appears to time out. I can get the update to keep going if I disable and enable my ethernet adapter, but it appears to timeout again in another 10-15 seconds. This happens in the konsole or using the graphical updater. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

      Re: kubuntu update problem

The two things that I have listed in my resolv.conf file are the DNS servers from my isp so I don't think thats it. This is happening when I try to download any large file from the internet now as well. I'm dual booting, and when I boot into windows xp I am able to download files from the internet and browse the internet without any problems so I think its a problem with the configuration of my network card in kubuntu possibly, but I really don't know. Any other ideas?

Would turning off ipv6 make any difference? I dont really know what that is or how to do that, but it just seems like one of the options. Also could it be my network card or driver? Thanks again for all the help.
