    Security programs

Hey... I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what programs I need for basic home computer security with Kubuntu? I mean, in Windows I would have Adaware, a virus scanner and a basic firewall. What are the equivalents here?

    Thanks

On a standalone computer you should not need an antivirus.

Automatix2 can install "KDE Security Suite" which is ClamAV Antivirus and Guarddog Firewall. My wireless router has a hardware firewall and I have always left it at that. An oft mentioned firewall is Firestarter.

AVG (Grisoft) have a Linux version too.

You should not need Spyware or similar.

Yes. Keep the system updated. That's all.
