Ok, so first thing I did was attempt the firefox.com installation way. I un-tar'd it. Put it in the /usr/local/bin directory, then did something else and when I would type firefox into the console I'd get:
[quote]/usr/local/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[\quote]
So I went to the sticky in this forum, then followed their directions and I keep getting the same error.
So then I tried
And it downloaded and installed Firefox, but once again I get the same error as above. So right now I pretty much just want to uninstall everything I did (i hate having loose files laying around and I don't really know how to get rid of all the **** I un-tar'd) and install Firefox the right way. Thanks in advance!
