    Sound from micro too soft

I want to be able to record from my microphone on my Audigy sound card. Using Audacity, I can record and something does get recorded, but it's too soft to be useful. I've turned the mic boost on in alsamixer and pushed all the volumes to high.

    What can be wrong?

    Thanks.

    Hi joneall

    I used Kmix
In Kmix on the tab for Input I click on the dark green button and it changes to bright green. I did this for the Line and Mic.
At the bottom I also click on the dark red button, it changed to bright red.
I did this for the Line, because it is the one I use.
If you are using the Mic you need the bright red for it.
Note you can only select one Line, CD, Mic, video, Phone, and Aux at a time.
    They toggle between them.

Also change the Capture to bright red and slide the control up to about mid point

This is what I had to do for Audacity to record for me.

    Good Luck
