    Ok, for the hard drive, no idea, someone else will have to help you there, but for the networking...

    Are you using wired or wireless? When you say P2P do you mean Ad-Hoc?

      well me neither :|

      on the network. no I don't go wireless...
      ADSL comes in on the pc in the living room, a cable goes up to my room and then goes in my pc.
      Ad-hoc?.... doesn't ring a bell :S

        So it's a wired network? Which machine is the one connected to the ADSL? I'm still not sure what you mean by p2p... what kind of cable is it? normal ethernet or crossover?

          yes wired

          The one in the living room

          P2P = peer to peer network, 2 pc's

          cable = UTP cross cable with an RJ-45 connector

          I plug it in my ethernet cards

            Ok, I'm afraid my networking knowledge doesn't extend that far, I could help you set up a simple network between the two computers, but if it genuinely is a p2p network, I'm not sure how I'd go about that.

            Sorry

              About the hard disk problem... Perhaps the installer made a 40 gb partition out of your 80 gb partition? That would mean that 40 GB's are unused. You could check whether this actually happened using a partitioning tool such as qtparted <--- not sure about spelling

              gparted is a good partitioning tool. Search for it. You could burn it as a liveCD and boot off it.

                well some one gave the same idea on the ubuntuforums.org to me, but I didn't know how to use that qparted thingy at all...
