Is there any software similar to FrontPage 2003

    Greetings,
I am currently enrolled in a class that is requiring me to build a website. But the only software that they offer is Front Page 2003. I am asking if there is any opensource web builders that will run on Kubuntu.

    Cheers,
    Mac

Try NVU (it's a WYSIWYG editor) or, if you like to write code, you can try Quanta Plus.
In a world without windows and fences who needs Gates?

      Greetings,
Is it in the add and remove programs app. If not which version do I need to get?

      Cheers,
      Mac

        viston,

I have found using the command line to be easier for installing programs when I know what they are. In this case...

        sudo apt-get install nvu

When searching for a program to do something I will you the Adept Package Manager.

nvu is in Universe, which needs to be enabled:
          https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Kubuntu
After that it will be available in Add/Remove Programs applet. Just make sure Any Suite is selected and unsupported and are checked

Nvu, while I do like it, is not a real replacement for Frontpage, though that may not be a bad thing . It does not have all the flashy eye candy effects and all that, but it does work well.

As the others have suggested, NVU is probably the best solution for open-source. If you have to use Front Page, I would suggest checking out Code Weavers CrossOver Linux(http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxoffice/), which is an excellent program.
