Help! I'm getting an error when i try and run Adept Installer, or Adept Manager,

It says there is another process using the database,
however i cant find the program, and the only programs running which contain Ad cant be closed via KsysGuard, because i dont have enough security priv.
I have tried rebooting my computer etc, but still get same error,
any suggestions?
