Installing kubuntu from dvd

I recently downloaded kubuntu6.10 dvd and tried installing it....... however after installation i dont see any difference between the a cd installation and dvd installation........ i was hoping i could install kdevelop and other tools ..... however i dont know how to install them , is there some profile that kubuntu offers before installing(like suse ,redhat ) ? i have the dvd with me........ please tell me how to install other features from the dvd......

nope there is no such thing as add third party repositories in kubuntu's synaptic manager.... there is only one option in view---->manage repositories. ....... here you can add only web based repositories...........

Click on 'Third Party' then 'Add CDROM' with the disc in the drive.

Works fine on mine here.
