    Kmenu question

I've just installed Kubuntu 6.10 edgy on my Dell 5150 laptop I have been exploring this site for tips. From what I gather the Kmenu is divided into three parts: actions ,all applications, and most used apps. I see the first two but not the most used apps. Also I don't see an entry for games. I installed a card game called Ace Penguin or something like that, but I don't see it in the menu list, according to adept manager it is installed. I would like to get the most used apps showing and locate the card games. Thanks.

    Re: Kmenu question

    1. To enable the most used apps (or most recently used apps), right-click on the panel, select Configure Panel, go the Menus options, and modify the QuickStart Menu Items settings. A setting of 0 (none) removes the menu section from the K Menu.

    2. Some apps do not have what they call .desktop files, which are needed if they have to be included in the K Menu. In this case, you'd have to look around for the executable file to run them. They're usually in /usr/bin or /usr/games, in case of games. Sometimes, though, a newly added app doesn't immediately show up in the K Menu, even if it should. This usually happens in Dapper, but not in Edgy. To "refresh" you K Menu, type this command in Konsole and ignore the error messages:

    Code:
    kbuildsycoca
    Hope that helps.
