I have dell dimension 9150, on the download drivers it offer a few linuxes but I don't know which kubuntu is: is it 8, or 9 or enterprise or what

I'm not sure what version of Kubuntu you install but if dell has some linux drivers they more than likely have then in a .deb or rpm format. Kubuntu is based on Debian and uses a .deb format for its packages. Dell may also have source or binary drivers which you would have to build and install. Most drivers you may need already come with Kubuntu.~$sudo make me a sandwich
