    Add new disk

I'm trying to add a new disk, so that I can download things to that, in order not to fill the main disk.

I have found several sites telling me how to do this, but it seems I miss something, right in the beginning.

    When I do

    sudo fdisk - l

I find the hda1 hda2 and hda5, with lists regarding their properties.

But with the new disk, sda, I don't find anything. Shouldn't there be a sda and a similar table to the hda?

I've tried QTParted, but it freezes. And yes, I know, the answer lies ritht in my eyes somewhere, I just don't get it.

    Re: Add new disk

    Hi,

By the command fdisk -l what do you see ? Can you see the two disks or only one ?
If you can see only one, I guess it's the trouble, no ?
If you can see them both, so maybe try to create the partitions like you want with fdisk...
