Hi,im new to kbuntu,just tried to check updates/adept but it tells me it is busy, locked or is stalled? can anyone tell me how to get it to work again.your help will be much apreciated.

Fire up Konsole (K Menu -> System) and type this command:
That should unlock it.Code:sudo dpkg --configure -a

Hi,just downloaded updates ok.when i went to install first 1 was java jrt5 it said preparing to install and froze.when i quit it now says installer is used by another app?so am back where i started.

Just enter the same command I gave.
Btw, you wouldn't want to install Java, Flash, or VMWare Player using Adept...Comment

Hi,tried redoing command yesterday,would not accept.tried today it worked,will download headers but when it tries to install i get There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages. any ideas.
