    command to minimize all windows?

In windows there is an icon and/or a command to minimize all windows and reveal the desktop. Is there an equivalent in ubuntu?

Yes. If you right-click on the kicker (a.k.a. the panel) and choose to Add Applet to Panel, you can add the Show Desktop applet, which is just an icon you can click to minimize all apps.

Otherwise, the easier way is to just press Control-Alt-D

Thank you. A number of interesting things there. I hadn't discovered it.
