    Another nOOb question

as i said before, i just started using Kubuntu yesterday, and so i dont know a lot of stuff, like for example (in this thread) What is a package, and where do packages get stored in order to access them in Add/Remove and all that?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Another nOOb question

    greetings again:

i just responded to your earlier post. packages are programs--short and sweet. sometimes a program needs another program to work, therefore, we kind of use the term package since our installer can install all the stuff any particular program may need to function. sometimes a package is as simple as one program.

one more thing before i forget. when posting on a forum, try to be very specific in the subject area. this helps users later on when doing searches for specific problems. something like 'what are packages' might be a real good subject line. helps you get answers faster and helps others again when doing word searches (since the search will scan all forum subject lines for specific words).

    hope that helps.

    regards
