    Stopping the computer

    Hi,

    One more newbie problem.

When I log out and want the computer to shut down, it just stops in the graphical interfacee.

    In

System Settings ->  Advanced -> Log in (This is retranslated from Norwegian, so might not be the correct words here.)

I find a Stop command:  Poweroff

Guess this is the problem; I use my trusty old BE6 motherboard based PC to learn KUBUNTU, and this probably doesn't support this command.

    What should I use instead?

      Sorry, just the same problem.

I've also tried shutdown now - but that give a restart.

How about that one: sudo shutdown -h now?

Sorry, no luck. Stops at the end of the second Kubuntu log on/off timeline; which after a certain number of stops will indicate that something is wrong.
