Hi there, I'm a new linux user.
I have already made contact with Linux at school, but not Kubuntu, it was Conectiva. At home, I decided to install Kubuntu (I had already tryed Ubuntu Live CD, but I don't like Gnome, so I chose Kubuntu because it uses KDE).
Well, everything is working fine, but I have a little problem when the system is booting.

The above image doesn't have anything strange. Everything is working fine, until...

... the message "Checking all filesystems" appears. The strange thing is that it is not displayed as the previous messages (iwith the Kubuntu logo and the progress bar on the top of the image). It is displayed in white color in a black background. The progress bar and the Kubuntu logo just disapear!

All the next messages are shown that way (no Kubuntu logo nor any progress bar).

It finishes booting normally, but I would like to know what is happening for this to happen. I thought the logo and the progress bar should stay there until KDE starts, shouldn't it? If they should, what can I do to make it work again?
My computer: Pentium 4 1,7 GHz, Asus P4SDR-VM mobo, 256 MB PC133 ram, 40 GB Seagate harddrive with dual boot (with 3 partitions, Windows (FAT32), swap and the Linux one). Everything else is on-board or not so important, I think.
