Adept conflict

Did a fresh install of Kubuntu 6.10 last night, all went well -- added some apps, tweaked the desktop. Then as I was going to add one last game from the repository, I got an error message in Adept saying it would not work because another Adept-like program had priority, that I had to close it first. But there is nothing else running! I checked from a fresh reboot and got the same message.

Any ideas? Still pretty new to Linux. Ran Ubuntu for some months, new to Kubuntu.

type this command in Konsole:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

then try again.

Thanks. I realized this about 10 minutes after I posted. Note to self: always check your brain is engaged before using.
