cd drive

Ok, I'm new to kubuntu and linux in general, and just got it installed, off of a cd.

Can someone walk me through how to get this thing to recognize my cd drive? It seems to think that I only have a hard drive and a floppy drive.

try going to the system settings menu and open up the disk and filesystem icon. go to the advanced section and you should be able to change options for the cdrom so that it mounts at startup. right then you should also be able to 'enable' it and change permissions even.
